What to wear to a dance class?

I'm going to start taking Forr� (Brazilian dance) classes, but I've never been to a dance class before so I don't know what men would be expected to wear. I'm assuming my 'proper shoes' and not my trainers(sneakers) but as for the trousers and top, I have no idea! It's the first class the teacher is giving so I think there'll be some other first-timers but I don't want to turn up either really over- or under-dressed.
