Making friends, first year in college?

sooo im about t start college in the fall and i decided it was a good idea to check on the facebook page for my university, to find other ppl attending as well. i started talking to this girl and we only had a 2 second conversation, but then she never answered back. its two months later and her roommate knows this other girl i was gonna meet up with at orientation. would it be weird to message that girl again after she didnt answer me (which was like a month ago) ? i just really wanna make friends and she looks nice! im trying to get a few people to meet up at freshman orientation. would she think its weird to hit her up again, asking like ohh did you take your placement test yet?
